Army Worm Alert!
Lawn Army Worms will attack your lawn. The Mid-North Coast has the ideal climate (thats why we choose to live here too).
Watch out for small white moths, they lay their eggs in trees, bushes, on eaves etc near the turf.
The eggs take 3-10 days to hatch and the lavae drop into the turf, they will strip the leaf.
The lavae hide in the thatch during the day and eat during the night.
Lawn Army Worm products including Sir Walter Pest Control should be used according to directions. Usually 2-3 applications are necessary a week to 10 days apart to eliminate the lavae.
Watch for further attacks as unfortunately they may return and you must repeat the process as there is nothing available to kill the eggs.
Fertilise your lawn to promote new leaf growth, especially prior to winter.
